About us....

Jo, Phil and Kieran run and manage Serenity Inn the City as an independent, family-run business.   We are local people, who live in and love the city of York and all it has to offer.  Consequently, we have a wealth of local knowledge we are only too willing to share with you to help you plan the perfect holiday in York and the surrounding areas. 

We firmly believe that when going on holiday, your accommodation should be, at the very least, as comfortable as your own home..... after all, this is what we as a family look for ourselves when we go on holiday!

We feel we have created a relaxing, luxurious, home from home experience (and our guest reviews confirm this).  We worked with local interior designers to help us create the luxury space on offer to you.  The decor and fabrics are all hand-selected, from a variety of designers, to create a calm, sumptuous space for you to enjoy.  We work with other local, York-based companies who help support us in the smooth running of the business and ultimately, we all form the Serenity Team.  We share the same passion and values to ensure we help to make your holiday comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable from start to finish.  

You will find everything and more at your disposal at Serenity Inn the City.  We provide umbrellas (hoping you won't need them) picnic apparatus, spare reading glasses (its no fun trying to read a menu if you have forgotten your own specs!) sewing kits, hairdryer, hair straighteners, first aid kits, luxury Molton Brown toiletries, cosy bath robes  and much, much more! 

One of our team is on hand before, during or after your stay to support you, as needed (or not at all if you prefer to be left alone!).  We are always willing to help you and offer recommendations on good places to eat, nice pubs, good walks, good days out or anything else you might think to ask us about!
